I've been working on my car dubbed "project 64" for some time. Recently I had work done to my garage and in doing so, I had to take my car off the jack stands and roll it out to make room in the garage. Now that my car is on the floor, if you look at it from the front, you'll see that it leans to the side as if it has hydraulics. I'm planning on installing new shocks, but I was guessing that my springs went bad. Does anyone out there have any knowledge on how to install front coil springs!!!

Hello. I have a 1999 Ford Escort. My left rear coil spring is broken. My mechanic told me it was the best idea to replace all 4 of the springs and it would run me in between 800 and 900 dollars. Is it necessary to have all 4 replaced and if so, is that a fair amount? Thank you.

I have a 1969 Chevy Impala Convertible and I was upgrading my suspension. I have completed the rear suspension of my car, which consists of 2 rear coil springs and 2 rear shock absorbers. Now, the front suspension is giving me some trouble, I already have the front suspension taken apart. Both front coil springs and shock absorbers are already out of the car and I have my car up safely on jackstands. I am having trouble getting my springs back in their pockets as my new springs are about 3-4 inches taller than my old ones. I know it would be harder to get them in, but even when I tried putting my old ones back in I was still having some trouble. I fully compressed the old spring with a compressor and got it back in between the frame rail and the lower a-arm pocket, but everytime I think Im going to get the lower a-arm jacked up to the spindle to lock it in place, the car begins to lift up. Can I drive my car to the shop,15 blocks away, with no front springs so they can reinstall them?
Also, I can reinstall my heavy duty shocks to at least absorb some of the punishment without the springs, but do you think I could drive the car like 15 blocks so they can reinstall my springs?
